Tanya Nichols
Co-founder, Retirement Planner
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
Early in her career, Tanya saw firsthand how women—even highly successful ones— struggled to feel good about their success and their money. That sparked a curiosity that became a mission: to build a firm where people could feel comfortable leaning into life.
One of her first clients hired her more than 20 years ago, and they're still walking the journey together today. That relationship shaped how she thinks about advice—as a long- term partnership built on trust, care, and shared life transitions.
As co-founder and managing partner of Retire Agile, Tanya leads the team with Roger to deliver a deeply personal process that gives each client the confidence to create a great retirement on their own terms.
Outside of work, Tanya is in her own season of transition—watching her kids move toward adulthood and finding more space to think about what comes next. That shift is shaping how she shows up, both personally and professionally, as she builds something meaningful that will last.
Roger Whitney
Co-founder, Retirement Planner
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CIMA®, CPWA®, RMA®
Roger's mother worked hard and saved diligently, sacrificing things that mattered so she could retire and truly live. She died at 48, never getting that chance.
Since 1991, Roger has seen the same pattern repeat with successful people—building wealth but never feeling confident enough to use it to create great lives for themselves, the people they love, and the world. That's why he co-founded Retire Agile with Tanya Nichols in 2025, merging their firms to create an enduring company focused on the retirement journey.
Retire Agile helps clients explore what they truly want (many haven't), determine what's feasible with what they have, and build resilient plans that give them permission to use their resources with confidence and minimize regrets.
Roger is on the same journey himself—balancing a great life today while taking care of tomorrow. He hosts the award-winning Retirement Answer Man® podcast and leads the Rock Retirement Club, empowering thousands of pre-retirees and retirees to rock their own transitions.
Natalia Benson
Executive Assistant
After working as a school counselor, Natalia saw firsthand how critical strong systems are during major life transitions. She joined Retire Agile as part of a purposeful career shift, drawn to the chance to use a broader range of her abilities, take on new challenges, and support leaders she respected in building an exceptional, well-run firm. As Executive Assistant, Natalia works directly with Tanya and Roger to implement the firm's strategy. Her nickname is "The Amplifier"—she creates the operational clarity and organizational structure that allows the team to stay focused on serving clients well.
Her counseling background taught her to listen closely, navigate challenges with calm, and communicate with clarity—skills that now ensure client experiences run smoothly, even as the firm grows and evolves.
Outside of work, Natalia spends time with her family and dogs, plays pickleball, rewatches Grey's Anatomy (more times than she'll admit), and gets lost in good books.
Troy Katterheinrich
Retirement Planner
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, RMA®
Troy spent years as an educator before attending the Kingdom Advisors Conference in 2018, where he immediately saw an opportunity to use what he felt uniquely called to do: help people organize, improve, and feel good about their financial life—all while doing it with heart, in a pastoral manner.
He helps Retire Agile clients by bringing organization and clarity to what feels disorganized and unclear, shepherding them through the right conversations to set them up for the retirement life they want.
Troy's favorite part of the work is watching the transformation—seeing clients go from uncertain and fearful to fully alive, exploring levels of life they had previously ruled out for some reason.
When he's not helping clients become fully alive in retirement, you'll find Troy fully alive on the golf course or at home with his wife and two young boys.
Erin Coe, CFP®
Associate Retirement Planner
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, EA, CFT-I™, NSSA®
After 30 years working with numbers in accounting and tax preparation, Erin realized something was missing. Working with numbers was satisfying, but it was often lonely work done to meet a company's needs—not to help real people.
She found her calling in retirement planning, where she could combine her aptitude for numbers with her love of helping people reduce anxiety, gain clarity, and align their money with their values.
Erin helps clients see that they're okay. She couples deep financial and tax expertise with a kind spirit, guiding retirees through the emotional shift from accumulation to distribution while building comprehensive long-term tax strategies that maximize what they keep.
When she's not knee-deep in Excel spreadsheets or tax analysis, Erin spends time with her husband, children, and grandchildren—preferably in the mountains of the Blue Ridge or on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

Scott Sanborn
Lead Flat Fee Planner
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, PMP®, TPCP®
Before retiring from a 30-year career as a military aviator and intelligence officer, Scott and his wife Sandi engaged Roger Whitney to create their retirement plan. It helped them reimagine what their life could look like and gave them the confidence they could actually achieve it.
Scott decided he wanted to provide that same experience to others. He joined the Retire Agile team to help clients who prefer to self-manage their investments but want a clear, executable retirement plan they can confidently follow.
His project management expertise—honed coordinating complex military operations—translates naturally to breaking down retirement transitions into manageable, actionable steps.
Scott is rocking his own retirement, splitting his time between creating retirement plans for clients, RV travel, and exploring nature with Sandi.
